Heart and Circulation
An unbalanced diet, particularly those high in saturated fats, cholesterol, sugar, salt and animal proteins have been linked to a poor cardiovascular system. Choose vegetable oils over animal fats and eat plenty of nuts, seeds and grains, which are high in monosaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids that have beneficial effects on the way we metabolise fats in the body. These foods are also high in Vitamin E , a fat soluble antioxident, which helps to protect cell membranes, and stops fats from oxidising in the body causing heart disease.
